Guide To Wearable Autumn Beauty

Guide To Wearable Autumn Beauty

The beauty pages are awash with some of nature’s most beautiful shades this autumn. From russet, to Bronze and gold, colour is definitely ‘in’ in a big way. The trick to making this look work is in intelligently layering your products; keep skin light, focus the use of autumn colours on one area of your faceeyes or lips and blend colours together really well for a tonal finish mother nature would be proud of. Follow our guide to getting the Autumn Bronze look right!

1. Mix concealer with a tinted serum or moisturiser by blending a few strokes of concealer in the palm of your hand with the cream/serum (the warmth of your hand will soften the concealer so it blends together evenly) for a finish the makes the most of fading summer skin-colour. The effect should be natural with a sheen; neither too tanned nor too matte so avoid powders and heavy foundation. Conceal any areas that need further coverage (read a full guide to concealing here).

2. Blend together a gold and pink eye-shadow  across the lid, using a big eye-shadow brush to smudge the colours together. Take the gold across and up the socket line towards the brow-bone and use a  soft, deep brown to lightly define the brows.

3. Line the lash roots with softened brown eyeliner  then using a fine liner brush, smudge your dark brown shadow over the top to create a very gentle smoky look. Finish with mascara.

4. Line lips and fill with a bright, natural colour – something with an apricot or pink finish will look best – too bronze and it looks a bit un-wearable. Our Apricot Sorbet is perfect!

Margaret’s Tip: To add a little more glamour and focus attention on your mouth, try more neutral shadows like Sand and Gold on the lids with bolder colour on your lips. Our Hot Chocolate lipstick looks good with a shimmer of Apricot Sorbet over or create a frosted peach with Rose Parfait topped with a touch of Apricot Sorbet.
