Naturally Nautical Look
Stylists the world over know that the most enduring ‘classic’ summer look is nautical. Reminiscent of relaxed picnics, bright blue seas and balmy, candlelit dinners by the beach, whites and blues combine to create a fresh, elegant style suitable for anyone. We talk you through reflecting this ageless style in your beauty regime with a simple how-to, suitable for even make-up novices.
Step 1. Prep the skin with a layer of tinted lotion or serum (our Odylique Superfruit Concentrate, £33 is perfect) to smooth fine lines and even out skin tone, then use concealer for an ultra-smooth base to the lids and under-eye.
Make-up Artist Pro Tip: One of the “hidden” signs of ageing is discolouration in the very outer corner of the eye, where tear staining can occur. Hide this by using a fine brush and concealer to blend away the years for a naturally wide awake look.
Step 2. Use a taupe coloured eyeshadow all over the eyes, such as our mineral pigment in ‘sand’, taking up to the brows. Brush a soft-pink or blue toned (available as part of the ‘Ocean Palette, £34.50) light reflecting shadow over the lids and line the outer third of the top and bottom lids of the eye with a chocolate brown liner. Curl lashes and finish with at least two coats of our naturally lengthening mascara, £17.50.
Step 3. Using a cream blush (our our lipstick in Rose Parfait to double up), dab a little colour high on the cheekbones, blending in a circular fashion to create the illusion of fresh, rosy cheeks.
Step 4. Use a sheer or glossy lipstick in a bright pink or apricot shade on the lips, applying with a brush for a long lasting finish. Rose Parfait Organic Lipstick, £18.
Rose Parfait is a flattering mid-rose pink with a subtle sheen. It tones perfectly with our Rose Lip Liner pencil.£18.00
